Rome, December 13, 2021-The Ministry of Ecological Transformation has approved the "Fano Substation-Fano Industrial Zone Main Cabin" project, which involves the construction of a new 132 kV

The substation and the underground power line between the Fano industrial area in the provinces of Pesaro and Urbino.

Terna will invest approximately 9 million euros in the project, which will improve the efficiency of the new Mondolfo main cabin and make the power grid in the area more efficient and bring various benefits to the local area. This includes increasing the supply of energy for the business of local companies.

The power line will be completely laid underground along the existing road, with a total length of about 6.5 kilometers.

Prior to the approval process, the company established a continuous dialogue with local communities and administrative departments, and finally passed the municipal government's request to move a section of cable out of the residential area, and reached an agreement with the March District Administration.

In the next few months, Terna will start the final planning phase. After completion, the actual work will begin.

Terna manages more than 1,900 kilometers of high-voltage and UHV lines and 20 substations in the region, is launching its 2021-2025 "Drive Energy" business plan, and will invest more than 135 million euros to develop the region's resilience. As part of the energy transition, the local power grid plays a key role in the company.

One of the main projects is the Adriatic Sea Link, which is a new direct current transmission line between Abruzzo and Le Marche. The project has a total length of 270 kilometers and a total length of 230 kilometers of submarine cables. It will strengthen the energy exchange along the central axis of the peninsula, ensure the safety and flexibility of the national power system, and achieve the goal of increasing renewable energy sources.
