Meralco recently commissioned its new 50 MVA transformer bank. 2 In its Pulilan 69 kV – 13.8 kV substation along the Plaridel-Pulilan shunt road in Pulilan Province, Bulacan, it provides additional capacity for its existing 33 MVA transformer bank. Similarly, the project provides switching flexibility in emergencies and ensures continuous power supply for customers served by substations in Pulilan, Bustos, Baliwag and Plaridel in Bulacan. The newly installed transformer bank will also improve voltage regulation in the area and reduce technical system losses. Although community quarantine measures continue to be implemented across the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Meralco and its subsidiaries continue to work hard to improve their power distribution systems to provide safe, adequate and reliable power services to their customers.
