A transformer sparked a small explosion Monday outside Citi Field in Queens, injuring three people working on the power equipment, police said.
The workers were tinkering with the transformer near Shea and Meridian Roads in Flushing when it exploded about 1:40 p.m., officials said.
The workers suffered minor burns in the blast, with one seeking medical attention at a local hospital, officials said.
Medics transported two of the victims to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell, FDNY officials said.
